I'm merely curious if these "street lock" a.thou.a. fake beadlock wheel rings really serve a purpose? Are they intended to extend farther over the cycle (afterwards the tire is mounted) to provide some level of protection from de-beading? Or are they purely for show given that proper beadlocks tend to be illegal on the street?

Should be for show. I haven't heard that true beadlocks are illegal though.

Well, they do protect the wheel from curb damage. That'southward why I have them. There are 16" curbs in parts of DC, if I hit ane, I tin can simply option upwardly a new band (100$) instead of a new cycle (400$).

Whatever multi piece wheel on the street is illegal. DOT thinks that 2-three piece wheels accept the chance to fall apart while driving downwards the road thereby creating massive carnage.
Such utter ********.

I've never heard of that. There are some vehicles that come from the mill with multi-piece wheels. Maybe this is a recent law?

Like dump trucks from the 50s?
Also, beadlocks tend to suspension bolts off in the rim, which is pretty lame. Unless you lot really have a demand for them, I would steer clear.

Well, that's debatable because I know some guys consider the Hummer H1 to exist a dump truck... The 2006 came with 2 piecers from the factory and then does the Lamborghini LP560-4 OEM upgraded wheels.
